IM Sciences Session Peshawar

On the 26th of April, for the second time Hamara Internet headed to Peshawar to conduct a workshop in the IM Sciences University. This workshop was truly a delight to conduct, for the audience mainly compromised of young women informed us of their daily challenges and struggles in the digital sphere through humor. And so on that note we joined them by introducing a whole variety of tools and tricks that slowly build the armor that keeps us safe of violence stemming through technology. In the audience were aspiring bloggers, journalists, businesswomen and activists who understood that quitting online spaces was not the solution to online harassment. Our guest speaker Sanna Ejaz spoke to the audience about what it meant for her to be in the public eye due to her profession. She stressed that learning how to protect whilst being socio-politically active wasn’t something that one learnt from the womb, and instead had evolve through one’s own experiences.
